Doorknobs

cold shower (as cold as you can handle it) preferribly a bath

Caffeine deconstricts blood vessels, which depending on the cause of your headache, may help to alleviate the pain.

I get into the shower and let a steady stream on hot-warm water hit my head or neck, wherever it hurts, and massage the area for awhile. I also take 2 aspirin (preferably Excedrin) and drink a little cola. The aspirin and caffeine helps me everytime.

Two big contributors to headaches are dehydration and food allergies. Make sure your water intake is adequate by drinking lots of water throughout the day. Pay close attention to the foods you eat when you develop a headache, some common offenders dairy, gluten, corn or any corn products (including HFCS), processed foods, and an alarming amount of food additives, especially MSG and aspartame.

Good remedy: avoiding food allergies, drinking enough water

A simple home remedy is to cut a betel leaf into 2 halves lengthwise, gently warm the halves over fire and apply over each temple. Its aromatic and tonic properties help soothe the headache.

Yes, stay well hydrated and get some caffeine if you can. Also try the simple accupressure technique of firmly gripping the webbed area between your thumb and finger. Hang on for a couple minutes, it works for me.
